ICS–Technologies’ community investments seek to address strategic local priorities where we do business around the world. We partner with governments, other private sector companies and nongovernmental organizations to help enhance quality of life. We help address community and business needs such as health care, education, and economic development.
We have several community–specific programs, which range from providing skills training, climate change mitigation, and support to gender equality and social inclusion initiatives. We consider the development goals of each community when deciding how best to invest, and we often participate in public–private partnerships and ongoing stakeholder engagement to help improve human rights, social and economic conditions.
In 2020, ICS established a new division to address the rising challenges faced by civil society organizations. We have earned our reputation for technical objectivity over more than four decades and rely on this to provide solutions to these pressing challenges.
ICS provides targeted support to organizations through short–term and long–term consultancy and provide charitable contributions to assist local organizations’ institutional capacity.
ICS- Technologies has several agreements with civil society organizations in the US, Europe, and the MENA region to provide technical assistance through short- and long-term contracts, and through public–private partnerships to enhance technical and operational capacity to achieve strategic development goals.
In Iraq, ICS – Technologies is collaborating with Asuda Organization, a women-led organization based in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq that works to combating violence against women. Asuda and ICS have developed programs to advance service provision for survivors of (S)GBV. This service has been granted to Asuda as part of our charitable contributions to eliminate all forms of gender-based violence and promote gender equality and social inclusion.
To support Syrian organizations, ICS-Technologies is working with ROIA Foundation to support their efforts to develop and implement innovative solutions through utilizing ICT to empower historically marginalized people. ROIA with the support from ICS is assisting conflict-affected communities to benefit from the global digital transformation.
In the USA, ICS has entered a short-term agreement with PartnersGlobal to work on business development strategies focusing on the MENA region.
Addressing gender equality and social inclusion challenges in the MENA region remain one of the most pressing concerns in the region and for international development actors. Local organizations led by women who work to prevent and provide support for gender-based violence remain vulnerable to closure due to deficiencies in funding, domestic and political pressure, climate change, and fragile institutional and operational capacity.
At ICS, we decided to support these organizations through our NOUR initiative to provide institutional and technical capacity to these organizations. Activities under this initiatve has been granted to WANi Organization.
